Happy Thursday, everyone!

Alright, we’ve nearly completed this work week, and we’re merely hours away from the Independence Day weekend. In case I forget to say this before Sunday, I want to take time to thank all of the men and women who are serving this great country of ours, and those who have served, for without their bravery and sacrifice, we would not have independence, nor would we have the freedom we far-too-often take for granted. So, my sincere thanks to all of you.

There isn’t much news to speak of, which during this time of the season, is good news, so let’s take a poll to ascertain the general opinion of the vastly superior intellect of the Daily Norseman Open Thread crowd.

Around the DN since our last open thread:

Other Vikings/NFL news and random oddities and annoyances:

From Boston.com, ESPN ranked the Patriots roster #18 in the NFL, citing concern for their receivers. The team went 7-9 even after being spotted 2 wins via having the Jets in their division (and the league attempted to hand them another win against the Broncos via 150 reschedules, but the Pats botched that one). so I’d say they have more than one area of concern, but that’s just me. At least they’ll have 2 games against the Jets again.

From NFL.com, Lane Johnson says the Eagles are going to ‘come out swinging’ after a disappointing 2020. Well, I suppose moving to the MLB isn’t a bad idea, I don’t see them playing any better football in 2021, so a change of sport can’t hurt.

Also from NFL.com, ex-Eagles coach Doug Pedersen is hoping for another chance in the NFL. That’s asking a lot. Inheriting one talented roster to run into the ground is difficult enough, I don’t see him getting a chance to do it a second time. Dude got insanely lucky to walk into that perfect situation with a future HOF QB at the helm and an insanely talented roster, and have the team win a Superb Owl despite him in that year before his decisions turned the team to s***. I suppose some team might take a chance, hopefully it’s the Packers.

Speaking of Packers, this quote from Devante Adams should get Packer fans (and the ultra-hyper-sensitive prima-donna Green Bay starting QB) riled up. Adams said that ‘it would be a dream’ to play with Derek Carr ‘but I’m a Packer now’, according to NFL.com. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Ohhh, that is awesome. That quote should go over like a fart in church. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Again, we all know the rules, but in case someone is new:

-No discussion of politics or religion
-No feeding of the trolls
-Take the gender hatred elsewhere, it won’t be tolerated
-Keep the bad language to a minimum (using the spoiler tags, if you must)|
-If discussing a newer show or movie, please use spoiler tags|
-No pictures that could get someone fired or in serious trouble with their employer
-If you can’t disagree in a civil manner, feel free to go away
-While navigating the open thread, just assume it’s sarcasm.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open. Belly up & tie one on, don’t forget to tip the cows, and settle in, the fireworks show should start soon.
