Titans 2021 UDFA Profile: TE Briley Moore

Moore joins a tight end room that’s wide open with opportunity.

With training camp fast approaching, we thought it would be a good time to showcase some of the UDFA’s that have a chance to make this roster. We are wrapping up this series today with one of the most intriguing signings.

The Tennessee Titans are going to look quite different at the tight end position this season. Jonnu Smith and MyCole Pruitt left the team for new opportunities in free agency. Anthony Firkser and Geoff Swaim are back in two-tone blue and appear set to take on bigger roles than they did a year ago.

The Titans surprisingly didn’t draft a tight end, but they signed two undrafted free agents at the position. One of those is Kansas State’s Briley Moore.

Moore played in nine games in 2020. He recorded 22 receptions for a total of 338 yards. That’s good for an impressive 15.4 yards per catch. He also showcased a nose for the end zone by adding three touchdowns. It was Moore’s lone season at K-State. Prior to his time in Manhattan, Moore played his college football at Northern Iowa. He sustained a season-ending injury in the season opener. In 2018, he played in all 12 games and led the Panthers in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. There’s some proven production here.

Moore comes in at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. Moore has just average size for the tight end position, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for with some impressive athletic ability. During draft prep, Moore was incredibly impressive at Kansas State’s pro day. His testing results included a 4.66 in the 40-yard dash, 26 reps on the bench press, a 37.5-inch vertical jump and a massive 10’03 broad jump. These numbers combined for an elite 9.02 relative athletic score (RAS).

Moore’s production and athletic profile showcases a player with the potential to earn a spot on an NFL roster. He is one to really watch over the next few weeks in my opinion. One of these undrafted free agent tight ends has a great chance to make this roster (we profiled the other UDFA tight end, Miller Forristall last week).

Firkser and Swaim are the only tight ends guaranteed a roster spot. Will the Titans carry three or four players at the position? They carried four a year ago. In addition to Forristall and Moore, second-year player Tommy Hudson and former Vanderbilt legend Jared Pinkney are also battling for roster spots. I like Hudson’s chances as well. I ultimately believe Moore has a great chance to crack this roster. I can’t wait to watch him run routes at practice.
