The Baltimore Ravens picked up their first victory of the 2021 preseason, defeating the New Orleans Saints 17-14. It was mostly a defensive game, but one of the biggest storylines for Baltimore was the battle for the backup quarterback position behind star Lamar Jackson.

With Jackson sitting out the game on Saturday, it was a prime opportunity for McSorley and Huntley to showcase their skills in front of their coaches. McSorley played in the first half, finishing 11 of 18 for 86 yards and one interception while having four rushing attempts for 25 yards.

Huntley on the other hand played in the second half, and finished the game 12 of 16 for 77 yards as well as 43 yards on seven ground totes and a touchdown.

When reflecting on their performances, McSorley and Huntley both weighed in on how they thought things went.

While the offensive line didn’t do either many favors, it was Huntley who seemingly separated himself from McSorley through one week of the preseason. The two quarterbacks will have another opportunity to prove that they deserve to be the one backing up Jackson next week, when the Ravens take on the Carolina Panthers.
