Todd McShay has apparently figured out the entire top 11 picks.
The last 24 hours of the draft are a whirlwind. Sometimes clean information surfaces, like the rumor that the Las Vegas Raiders were going to make a surprising pick — who wound up being pass-rusher Clelin Ferrell — with the fourth choice in the 2019 draft. Other times, it’s complete hogwash, like the Will Levis first-round hype from last year.
So let’s see what credible sources are saying today, as we’re just a few hours from the Chicago Bears being on the clock in Detroit.
No 2024 NFL Mock Draft ⛓️ for me. But here’s what I’m hearing…
1. CHI QB Caleb ☑️
2. WASH QB Jayden ☑️
3. NE plan:
-HIGHLY LIKELY the Pats stick and pick Maye.
-Would only move back if A. They get a HAUL to move back and B. They have a 2nd trade in place with AZ at 4 or LAC at…— Todd McShay (@McShay13) April 25, 2024
It seems like Todd McShay, former ESPN commentator, has figured out the entire top 11. What’s most interesting here to me, as a Packers fan, is that New England is likely to select quarterback Drake Maye of North Carolina — who is also allegedly the Minnesota Vikings’ top option. Anything that will throw a wrench in the Vikings’ plan is good to me.
As we get closer to the start of tonight’s draft, multiple teams are looking to get into that top half of the first round knowing there is a drop off in talent after the first 12-15 players on team’s boards.

“Team’s boards” is an importance caveat here from The Athletic’s Russini, as boards can vary drastically. If I were to guess, this means that teams probably want to get to around 18th to 20th overall to ensure that they make a selection in what they perceive to be the second tier of the draft.
The Chicago Bears are very open for business at 9 and telling teams they are ready to move for the right price, per source.

The Rams are pursuing this trade into the top 10 with a specific player in mind and it’s not a quarterback, per sources. https://t.co/FPSDR7fwEf

Trade talk! There’s a lot of speculation that the player that the Los Angeles Rams are trying to move up for is tight end Brock Bowers. I can only imagine how head coach Sean McVay would use the move tight end in his offense after typically building his passing games around true Y inline tight ends in his time in Los Angeles.
One name that came up a lot today in cross-referencing with scouts: Cooper DeJean. Considered a very safe pick in the first round. Minimal risk.
The DB run might start around the mid-teens.

Easily the most-mocked player to the Packers this offseason was Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean, who Green Bay general manager stated the team considers to be a cornerback, slot and safety at the NFL level. Based on ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler’s reporting, it seems unlikely that Gutekunst will be able to nab him at #25, if the team just wants to sit back and pick.
Jay Glazer on @PetrosAndMoney did sound definitive that it would be Daniels at 2.
— Billy M (@BillyM_91) April 25, 2024
FOX’s Jay Glazer is one of the premier newsbreakers in the NFL. If he says that Jayden Daniels is going to be drafted second overall, you can assume the draft really starts when the New England Patriots go on the clock with the third pick.
The 49ers have had conversations with teams, including with one picking in the top 10, about trading either of their prized wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel in an effort to move up in the first round, per sources.

It looks like last year’s NFC champions are trying to move up in the draft. If they’re moving into the top-10, you’d have to assume it’s for another pass-catcher. Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze dropping at receiver or tight end Brock Bowers could be options.
Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated claims that the belief is that offensive lineman Graham Barton of Duke will be drafted between the 20th and 24th picks of the draft, just before the Packers.
My guess would be that he winds up going somewhere between Pittsburgh at No. 20 and Dallas at No. 24. In both cases, I think the teams would probably take a tackle, if one they really liked fell to them (Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton might be that guy for either team). If Barton goes at 20, Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson could be in play for Dallas at 24.)
He also mentioned a cluster of players to keep an eye out for the Packers at #25:
Two surprise first-rounders? One could be Washington tackle Roger Rosengarten, who could be in play for San Francisco at 31 or Kansas City at 32. Another would be Texas A&M linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, who I think could be in the mix with guys such as Illinois DT Johnny Newton, Missouri DE Darius Robinson, Penn State DE Chop Robinson or Iowa DB Cooper DeJean for the Packers at 25.
Jerod Mayo at Patriots draft party: “I hope you are excited as I am to start putting the team together and getting out there on the field.
“We’re going to get a great player at 3. It’s going to be early. And we can always sneak back into the first round.”

After weeks of listening to offers for the No. 3 overall pick, all signs now point to the #Patriots standing pat and picking.
The belief within the league is that pick will most likely be North Carolina QB Drake Maye.
— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) April 25, 2024
It appears that the Patriots will be taking Drake Maye. No Maye for the Vikings. We’ll have to see how they pivot out of this one after letting Kirk Cousins walk for nothing and only having Sam Darnold, Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall on their depth chart.
