During a contest that concluded Tight End University last week, the Chiefs star won a gift for his team’s fans.

On Thursday night, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce — along with San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle and former NFL tight end Greg Olsen — joined with others from their Tight End University in Nashville for a fun evening at a local Topgolf.

But upon their arrival, the tight ends learned that a little competition was in the works: a long-drive contest where the winner would score free Bud Light for their fanbase.

Kelce won the contest — meaning that for Chiefs fans, there is free beer in their future.

There are a couple of catches, of course. The first is that the free beer for Chiefs fans won’t be available until National Tight Ends Day — an invention of Kittle and 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garropolo last season — which will be on Sunday, October 24. (If you’re keeping track at home, N.T.E.D. is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Sunday in October).

And here’s the other catch: we don’t know exactly how Chiefs fans will be able to claim their free beer. Presumably, Bud Light will have those details available sometime before the end of October.

So stay tuned. And stay thirsty.
