Rookies reported to Jacksonville Jaguars training camp on Tuesday, including No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence. There is good news for the quarterback, as Lawrence — who had offseason surgery on his non-throwing shoulder in February prior to the 2021 NFL Draft — will be a “full-go” during training camp.

This isn’t surprising, as it was always expected that Lawrence would be 100 percent recovered and ready for camp, but it is of course a great sign for the team and fans alike to confirm that Lawrence is completely healthy heading into his rookie campaign.

NFL Network’s Judy Battista reported on “NFL NOW” on Tuesday that Lawrence will be ready to roll with no restrictions when camp begins.

“Remember they were holding him back a little bit in OTAs and minicamp a little bit because he was recovering from the offseason shoulder surgery,” Battista said. “It was his non-throwing shoulder, so that’s the good news, but they were still restricting him.

“No restrictions anymore when he gets to training camp. It is going to be full-go.”

Battista also mentioned that Lawrence has been working out at his alma mater, Clemson, with teammates Laviska Shenault, D.J. Chark and Marvin Jones.

While Lawrence participated in rookie minicamp, Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamp throughout the offseason, he was limited by the staff on what he was able to do. Head coach Urban Meyer said Lawrence was on a “pitch count” of around 30 to 40 throws per workout. Lawrence also tightened up his hamstring at one point during OTAs.

During June minicamp, Lawrence did admit that it was “a little frustrating just not being able to go full speed.” Lawrence will no longer have to worry about that, as he is now ready to go to work without limitations. While rookies reported this week, the Jaguars officially begin training camp as a team on Tuesday, July 27.
