At one point this offseason, Texas tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders was a popular high draft pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in mock drafts.

It feels like Sanders’ stock has cooled a bit since then, but that doesn’t mean the fit doesn’t still make sense.

Pro Football Focus would seem to agree, naming Sandres as the “perfect Day 2” fit for Cincinnati.

Provided the team doesn’t happen to take a tight end in Round 1, this might just be the case too, especially if it’s after Round 2. Sanders is a little on the smaller side, but his versatility all over an offense is why he averaged better than 15 yards per catch last season.

If nothing else, he’s still very much a name to watch for the Bengals on Day 2.
