The regular season is over, so how’d we make out?

As we’ve said all season on the UnPack Podcast, the bar was 6 wins, and everything else would be gravy. Well, after finishing off Chicago, and potentially relegating yet another Bears quarterback to the “what’s his trade value?” scrap pile, we’re pouring gravy on top of the gravy. That’s right, after a three-month rebuilding project, your Green Bay Packers are going to the Playoffs. But before we look ahead to the upcoming McCarthy Bowl, let’s take a look back at the regular season that was. Before week 1, we proposed several season-long prop bets for Packers players. Well, the regular season is in the books. So, how’d we do?

Packers win/loss total over under – 7.5

Alex: Over Nick: Over Zach: Under ❌

Predictions before the season varied widely, but conventional wisdom said the Packers would likely be a sub-.500 ballclub. Fast forward to today and the Packers finished second in the division at 9-8, a testament to Matt LaFleur, Jordan Love, and GM Brian Gutekunst.

Christian Watson total TD over under – 4.5

Alex: Over Nick: Over Zach: Over

When looking at Christian Watson’s stats at the end of the year, I’ll admit we did a double-take. Watson missed large swathes of the season with a pesky hamstring injury and notched just 28 catches, but 5 went for touchdowns. You read that right. Technically, nearly 18% of Watson’s catches in 2023 were touchdowns. Score.

Jordan Love passing TD over under – 21.5

Alex: Over Nick: Over Zach: Over

Call us homers, but it really felt like the season would have to go sideways for Jordan Love to throw less than 22 touchdowns. Stranger things have happened, but it felt unlikely to us. While it looked bleak for a short stretch, Love finished the season ranked 2nd in touchdown passes with 32. This Sunday in Dallas, he’ll face off against Dak Prescott, who ranked 1st in touchdown passes with 36.

Romeo Doubs total rec yards over under – 550.5

Alex: Over Nick: Over Zach: Over

Make all the “strong hands” jokes you want, at the beginning of the year, it felt like a sure bet that Romeo Doubs would surpass 550 receiving yards. Even with the emergence of breakout rookies like Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks, Doubs still managed 674 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. Not bad at all.

AJ Dillon total rush TD over under – 6.5

Alex: Under Nick: Over ❌ Zach: Under

We don’t like taking the under on our beloved Packers, but AJ Dillon scoring more than 6 rushing touchdowns always felt like a pipe dream. Even with Aaron Jones missing a chunk of the season, Dillon notched just 613 yards on 178 carries (3.4ypc) and found the end zone a meager two times. He did catch 22 passes, though! Good for him.
