The Jacksonville Jaguars have wrapped up the 2022 NFL Draft selection process this weekend and started the week by signing some undrafted rookie free agents. According to NFL agent David Canter, they’ve also decided to bring back a veteran free agent in defensive lineman Adam Gotsis, who will be returning to the Jags for a third consecutive year.

Gotsis, 29, has been in the league since 2016 when the Denver Broncos drafted him in the second round (No. 63 overall). After four seasons with them, he joined the Jags in 2020 and has played in 32 games with the team and started in 18. In those games with the Jags, he’s accumulated 64 combined tackles (10 of which have been for loss) and three sacks.

The return of Gotsis should only strengthen the Jags’ defensive line rotation. It especially should help the Jags in run defense, which is an area they seem to be dissatisfied with. Their additions of notables like Foley Fatukasi, Foyesade Oluokun, Travon Walker, Devin Lloyd, and Chad Muma proved it, and adding Gotsis is even more confirmation.

Gotsis will rejoin a defensive line group that has veterans Fatukasi, Malcom Brown, Roy Robertson-Harris, and DaVon Hamilton already on it, so making the final roster will be harder. That said, Gotsis will be a player to watch in training camp.
