On Sunday, just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense. One bright spot was the 95-yard touchdown drive just before the end of the first half. Quarterback Kenny Pickett looked like he really had control of the offense in the two-minute drill going no-huddle and running tempo.

But after the game, Pickett almost sounded like he wasn’t happy with the lack of balance on offense, calling it “one-sided.”

“It felt like we’re just kind of one-sided today, couldn’t get anything going on the ground today,” Pickett said. “I wish we had more balance, but we need to improve in a lot of areas.”

Unfortunately, when your team falls behind early, establishing the run game kind of goes out the window. Then the onus for the offense falls squarely on the quarterback, for better or worse. Welcome to the world of being a franchise quarterback.
