Scheduled to select No. 10 in the 2024 NFL draft, Joe Douglas is faced with a monumental yet mysterious decision. Which direction will the Jets front office boss travel?

Although a case can be made that every draft is featured with some level of mystery, the 2024 iteration provides a much different feel for fans. Unlike in years past, which showcases a plethora of depth chart needs, the current Jets roster looks pretty solid on paper.

Yes, Robert Saleh is tasked with avoiding injuries as best he can, and by no means is the depth chart perfect, but a lauded free agency period that saw a flurry of activity moved the Jets into an even more mysterious back alley.

Once upon a time, offensive tackle was considered the no-doubt-about-it selection at No. 10. Courtesy of the Tyron Smith, John Simpson and Morgan Moses additions, offensive tackle does not seem so certain.

Aaron Rodgers could use another weapon, undoubtedly, yet reeling in big Mike Williams solved the offense’s possession/sideline ill—complementing stud Garrett Wilson.

Then there’s tight end, where the likes of Tyler Conklin, Jeremy Ruckert and Kenny Yeboah live. There’s no question that Georgia product Brock Bowers would instantly add to the Jets’ passing prowess, but how well can he fit into the rushing scheme via an in-line offensive line fashion?

Diving into crazier waters, let’s not forget about the defense. Although it shock the football world if Douglas tabs a defender as his first pick in the 2024 NFL draft, it should not completely be overlooked.

Both interior defender and edge defender are options that have to at least be considered to a minimal degree. I’d also push the interior defender option a bit further, as a trade-down-and-snag at that position is the longshot darkhorse in the clubhouse right now.
