Wednesday Open Thread: July 21, 2021

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

We’ve made it to the midway point of another week in this slow NFL off-season. It’s another scorcher up here in the Northern Dakota, temps are expected to hover around the 100 mark pretty much through Tuesday. I love it, this is my kind of weather. Might as well enjoy it while we have it, the snow could be flying two months from now. Anyone have plans for the weekend? I think kiddo and I are going to get out and do some camping, and hopefully we’ll spend a lot of time in the boat, trolling for walleye. I’m taking Monday off so the fam and I can head up to the State Fair, the WalMart of public events. It’s supposed to be 102 that day, so at least the weather will be nice.

Jets assistant Greg Knapp is in critical condition after being struck by a car while on his bicycle, per NFL.com.

From The Sporting News, A-a-ron Rodgers reportedly declined to sign a two-year extension that would have made him the highest paid QB in the league. I’ve been of the opinion that Rogers will definitely play this next year, and I still think he will, but I’m not as convinced as I was a week ago. I just don’t see any other option for him, other than to retire, and I seriously doubt he’ll do that, but who knows?

Rams RB Cam Akers is out for the year with a torn achilles, per the Sporting News. I could see Adrian Peterson heading west.
