Week 13 MNF: Picks and game thread for Bengals vs. Jaguars

The Jags can move into the AFC’s top spot with a win tonight.

This evening, the Jacksonville Jaguars have an opportunity to move into the #1 seed in the AFC playoff race with a victory. That’s quite a statement for a franchise that has been struggling mightily for much of the last few decades, but the Jaguars got a little boost from the Green Bay Packers’ upset over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football and look to take advantage as big favorites on Monday night.

A win by the Jaguars tonight moves them to 9-3, matching the records of the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens, But the Jaguars would hold the tiebreaker over those two teams thanks to a superior conference record, putting them in the driver’s seat for the top seed.

In the Jaguars’ way tonight are the Cincinnati Bengals, a team that has been fading farther out of the AFC playoff hunt in recent weeks. Joe Burrow’s season-ending injury is largely responsible for that downturn, and the Bengals now sit at 5-6. A win tonight for Cincinnati would give them a huge morale boost, but that’s a tall order against a Jags team that is favored by double-digits.
