APC feels good about Aaron Rodgers and company getting back on track on Monday night.

It was a brutal week one for the Green Bay Packers, and it wasn’t much better for some of APC’s contributors in our game picks. Just two of our 12 writers who submitted straight-up picks last week hit on more than 50% of their games, while just one of seven was better than 50/50 against the point spread.

This week, we are hoping for a rebound, both for the Packers and for our performance picking games. Green Bay will get to return home, however, for their home opener on Monday Night Football against the Detroit Lions. This will mark the first game since the team’s Divisional Playoff win over Seattle in January 2020 where the Lambeau Field stands will be filled, and that should provide the team with an energy boost after a sluggish first game in Jacksonville last Sunday.

The Packers sit as 11-point favorites as of Thursday afternoon, a sign that sportsbooks do not put a heavy weight on the team’s poor performance against the New Orleans Saints. The Lions, meanwhile, come in off a thrilling comeback against the San Francisco 49ers that fell just short, as Dan Campbell’s squad rallied from a 38-10 deficit to cut the final score to 41-33.
