Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio has been busy this offseason – and not just with new acquisitions.

Caserio brought in key pieces like Danielle Hunter and Joe Mixon this offseason but also restructured two contracts from the offensive line – guard Shaq Mason and tackle Tytus Howard. Both moves created an extra $16.7 million in salary cap space in the month leading up to the 2024 NFL draft and gave Houston almost $32 million in salary cap space, per Over The Cap.

This begs the question: What is Caserio planning to do with all that extra money? The Texans still have some roster holes they need to fill ahead of the season, but those could be filled in the draft with the team’s eight picks. But with so much room – Houston ranks sixth in cap room, per OTC – Caserio could make some big moves before the draft and leading into the 2024 offseason workout schedule.

Here are five possible moves the Texans could make with their extra cap room.
