Which Bengals player should have highest rating in Madden NFL 22?

It isn’t easy to predict which player might lead the Cincinnati Bengals in overall rating in the upcoming Madden NFL 22 from EA Sports.
There are a few candidates, headlined by safety Jessie Bates, wideout Tyler Boyd and even running back Joe Mixon.
Ask wideout Tee Higgins though, and only one name comes to mind.
Higgins kept it short and sweet with Peter Schrager when asked about the ratings situation: “Jessie Bates–our safety–he’s so underrated.”
Funnily enough, Higgins himself could be in the conversation soon if he builds upon his rookie year well in 2021. He’s generating the most hype of maybe any Bengals player right now — with Joe Burrow even noticing the difference.
But right now? Bates should far and away be the frontrunner to have the best overall rating on the team. Not that Bates is too worried about it, which seems to be right in line with how he feels about a possible extension with the Bengals, too.
