Who are Bengals fans rooting for (and against) in the playoffs?

It’s time to pick a bandwagon.

Cincinnati Bengals fans are disappointed their team isn’t in the playoffs. But the NFL postseason is just too much fun. Most fans will still tune in.

The question then becomes, who does Who Dey nation want to see succeed and who do they want to see fall flat on their face?

In the Short below, Zim Whodey tells us why he’d much rather see the Bengals’ AFC North rivals—the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens, and the Cleveland Browns—fail than he would the Kansas City Chiefs.

Naturally, there is a lot of friction between Bengals fans and Steelers fans, as those teams’ games have been pretty nasty at times. And the Browns have the whole intrastate rivalry going on.

But recently it’s been the Chiefs who, late in the season, have been right there with the Bengals as the team to beat in the AFC. Patrick Mahomes is already two Super Bowl wins ahead of Joe Burrow. Another would make it hard to make an argument for the Bengals QB being superior.

Really, you can pick any team from the AFC and find some reason Bengals fans want them to fail: Ravens (trash talking), Miami Dolphins (the Burrow vs. Tua Tagovailoa debate), and Houston Texans (grudge from the Sam Wyche vs. Jerry Glanville days plus embarrassing playoff and primetime losses to the Texans in the Andy Dalton days).

Hating on NFC teams, while trickier, is still possible. Obviously, the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams are the two teams to take championships away from Cincinnati.

The Dallas Cowboys and the franchise’s owner, Jerry Jones, get way too much attention.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have former Bengals killer Baker Mayfield, but his success also makes the Browns look bad.

The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most likeable QBs in the league, Jalen Hurts, but a notoriously disorderly fanbase.

That leaves the Detroit Lions, who were, for the longest time, the Bengals of the NFC, and the Green Bay Packers, whose spending habits closely resembled that of the Bengals on account of being a small market and publicly-traded organization.

So now it’s up to you.
