New faces abound after an offseason focused on talent infusion

After a trade-filled free agency and draft, the 2024 offseason has seen what is, perhaps, the largest overhaul to receiving talent in Carolina Panthers history.

2023 free agency acquisition Adam Thielen was the lone bright spot for the Panthers last year. He caught 103 catches for 1014 yards and 4 touchdowns on 137 targets.

This season is set to feature new faces at wide receiver, such as former Pittsburgh Steeler Diontae Johnson and 2024 first round draft pick Xavier Legette.

Meanwhile, at tight end, the Panthers picked up Ja’Tavion Sanders in the 2024 NFL draft. He may be a fourth round pick, but some have hailed him as the second best tight end in his class.

The before-we’ve-even-seen-a-day-of-training-camp expectation for this team is that 11 personnel would start Legette at X, Johnson at Y, and Thielen in the slot, with the TE rotating in some combination between Sanders and Tommy Tremble.

That leaves 2023 2nd round pick Jonathan Mingo to rotate in for Thielen and Terrace Marshall Jr the opportunity to still earn a roster spot.

Heck, there’s even a snowball’s chance that Miles Sanders returns to form and becomes a well-used safety valve out of the backfield.

Bryce Young’s options have certainly expanded for his rookie redo season, but the question remains of who will be his favorite target.
