The Buffalo Bills frequently go with the “best five” mantra on their offensive line, sacrificing continuity for better players. They took that to the extreme on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, subbing three different positions with Spencer Brown out.

With their right tackle down, the Bills moved right guard Darryl Williams outside where he started all the games during the 2020 season. Instead of subbing in former right guard starter Cody Ford in a one-for-one swap, the Bills decided to move Jon Feliciano over from the left to the right side, a spot he manned in the past but not recently. Their sixth offensive lineman is Ike Boettger, who they could have placed at right guard, but instead chose to plug him in at left guard.

Now Ford is the top backup lineman at virtually every position with do-it-all Ryan Bates in the mix and rookie Tommy Doyle as the last man up.
