“Everything’s been positive.”

With offseason workouts beginning, the Cincinnati Bengals are getting back to work as a team.

However, quarterback Joe Burrow has still not been fully cleared to participate, though his recovery from wrist surgery still continues to move in a positive direction.

On Monday, head coach Zac Taylor gave a brief update on Burrow’s status, saying he has yet to see the QB resume throwing but is progressing well in rehab.

“Everything’s been positive,” said Taylor. “If everything is on track, everything is on track. Really, as a whole, in our rehab, everybody’s been on track, and you hear positive reports on the pace that we think they need to be on.”

Taylor admitted he’s been asked about Burrow’s recovery non-stop this offseason, but he understands why.

“It’s the No. 1 question I get asked in public, when I’m at basketball games, or whatever it is, is ‘How’s Joe?’ That’s part of it. He’s a big part of what we’re doing, and I obviously understand the concern everyone has,” said Taylor. “But the guy has been through some rehab processes, so he knows how to attack it. He knows how to get his body back right, where it needs to be. [I’m] excited to see what the season brings for him.”

Let’s hope Burrow is fully cleared soon enough. It’s about time we see him get an offseason and training camp under his belt now entering Year 5.

Below is a refresher on the Bengals’ OTA schedule this year.

  • First day: April 15
  • Voluntary OTAs: May 28-30, June 3-6
  • Mandatory minicamp: June 11-13
