Zach Banner inactive for the Steelers in Week 6 against the Seahawks

Even though Banner returned from the Reserve/Injured List on Saturday, it was unlikely the Steelers would dress four tackles.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their inactives for their Week 6 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. With one player already ruled out due to injury and no players elevated from the practice squad on Saturday, there are four healthy scratches of the five players on the list. No. 45 LB Buddy Johnson
No. 72 OT Zach Banner
No. 73 DT Carlos Davis

Just like the last three weeks, the Steelers don’t have any players carrying an injury status who were in doubt for Sunday’s game. Defensive tackle Carlos Davis was ruled out on Friday and will miss his fifth-straight game. Davis did practice in a limited capacity each day this week but will look to return following the Steelers Week 7 bye week.

As for the players who were healthy scratches, Dewayne Haskins is inactive for the sixth-straight week. Others on the inactive list are familiar names as the Steelers have cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon inactive for the fourth-straight game and five of the six games this season. After getting a helmet in Week 2 due to the injury to Joe Haden, Witherspoon is back on the inactive list again. For the third-straight week, Buddy Johnson finds himself on the inactive list as he will be on the sidelines.

The final player on the Steelers inactive list came due to the Steelers placing JuJu Smith-Schuster on IR on Saturday and activated Zach Banner to the 53-man roster. With for offensive tackles on the roster, the Steelers chose to keep Banner out this week despite being eligible to play. It will be interesting to see how the Steelers utilize Banner following the bye week.

As for the Seahawks inactives, they can be seen below courtesy of Steelers.com. Both quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Chris Carson were placed on the Reserve/Injured List on Saturday, hence why they are not on the list.
