Isaac Wilson gets an offer from the Miami Hurricanes

In 2017, an 18-year-old Zach Wilson accepted an offer to play college football at Brigham Young University. A three-star recruit, Wilson was relatively highly regarded coming out of high school. Aside from BYU, he was offered by schools like Boise State, Iowa, and Cal.

Nearly five years later, Zach’s younger brother, Isaac, may end up with even more hype coming out of Corner Canyon High School.

On Thursday, Isaac Wilson announced he was offered a scholarship by the University of Miami.

A few days later, the older Wilson, Zach, headed to Twitter to congratulate his little brother.

According to 247sports.com, a major site dedicated to recruiting, Isaac Wilson is a four-star recruit. Currently a sophomore in high school and set for the recruiting class of 2024, he is the highest-ranked QB in Utah and the fifth-highest ranked quarterback in the nation.

With over two years left in high school, Wilson still has a lot of time to field scholarship offers. As of Jan. 30, 2021, he has been offered by Miami, Oregon, San Jose State, Weber State, and his brother’s alma mater, BYU.

Despite these impressive offers, Wilson has yet to even become his high school’s starting QB because Ohio State signee Devin Brown sits ahead of him on the depth chart. Brown is a senior, so Wilson will likely take the reins this fall, but it’s worth noting since almost all of Wilson’s hype has been generated by his performances at camps.

Just last week, Wilson attended “Battle Miami,” a 7-on-7 camp for the top sophomores and juniors in the nation. In an article by 247sports.com, Wilson was listed as one of five “eye-catchers” at the camp, even drawing comparisons to his older brother.

“I know it’s just 7-on-7, but ask anyone that had a chance to see Isaac Wilson work Saturday and they will likely tell you that the 2024 quarterback looked a lot like his older brother, Zach Wilson,” wrote 247sports writer Andrew Ivins.

Obviously, Isaac has a lot of catching up to do when it comes to matching Zach’s career accomplishments, but he’s off to a hot start. Without even taking a snap, he’s generated interest from major college programs as well as become a nationally ranked recruit.

Now all he needs to do is finish top 10 in Heisman voting and get drafted top two in the NFL draft. Can’t be too hard, right?
