Zach Wilson’s mom says Jets QB asked her take down her social media accounts

Zach Wilson doesn’t want his mother in the social media spotlight anymore.

Lisa Wilson recently revealed that her son asked her to take down her social media accounts – and even offered to pay her for them – because he didn’t like seeing and hearing what people were saying and writing about her. There have been numerous stories written about Lisa after the Jets picked her son second overall in the 2021 draft, and those fueled Wilson’s request to his mother, not the content of her own posts.

Lisa drew some attention to herself in May when she posted a rant criticizing the mask policy at Disney World.

“Has he asked me to take down my social media? He has before,” Lisa said last week. “He says ‘Mom, you don’t embarrass me but I can’t stand these people treating my mom like crap.’”

Wilson said she refused to take down her accounts, though, citing what she described as a positive influence on her followers. She has almost 34,000 followers on Instagram and mentioned how she receives messages from other women thanking her for helping them.”

“I can take the heat,” Wilson added. “Bring it on.”
