If you listened very carefully, there were interesting things to be heard as Kansas City lost in Green Bay.

On Sunday evening, the Green Bay Packers upset the Kansas City Chiefs, sending them home with a 27-19 loss. Here are some of the excuses Tom Ruprecht overheard during Kansas City’s third loss in five games.

  1. “Maybe we took the ‘Rematch of Super Bowl I’ thing too literally.”
  2. “Isiah Pacheco wasn’t trying to punch an opponent. He was just doing his impression of that ‘Big Dom’ guy from the Philadelphia Eagles’ security.”
  3. “The question isn’t why wasn’t pass interference called on the last throw to Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The question is why would a defensive back interfere with him when he’d surely drop it anyway?”
  4. “Taylor wanted to write one of her ‘angry songs,’ so the back judge helped create the mood.”
  5. “Football officials screwed Valdes-Scantling like he was Florida State.”
  6. “Hey, the Chiefs’ offense is really clicking when you compare it to the Patriots’ offense.”
  7. “In 2023, it’s not a good sign when Joe Flacco puts up better numbers than your quarterback.”
  8. “We just wanted to annoy Aaron Rodgers by letting Jordan Love beat Patrick Mahomes first.”
  9. “Keisean Nixon has a better feel for where Mahomes is throwing than Skyy Moore does.”
  10. “In hindsight, maybe we should’ve given Love’s mom better seats at Arrowhead in 2021.”
