The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to bring in top prospects for the 2024 NFL draft with just two weeks until the first round. On the heels of a huge pro day, former Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean is headed to Pittsburgh for a pre-draft visit.

DeJean was easily one of the top defensive backs in the country in 2023 until suffering a broken leg during practice in mid-November. The NFL has been anxiously tracking DeJean’s recovery and in early April DeJean was back on the field running and running well.

The former Iowa star ran an unofficial 4.42-second 40-yard day at just over six feet tall and 202 pounds. The team that selects DeJean will have the flexibility to use him at cornerback or safety and will also net you an elite kick returner.

The Steelers are picking No. 20 overall in the first round and should have numerous options at multiple positions of need. If they chose to pick DeJean, he would work in as the team’s third cornerback or safety early in his career but we really feel like starting outside cornerback is where he will end up in the long term if he lands on the right team.
