Elijah Mitchell is also questionable

Running back Elijah Mitchell still had his blue, non-contact jersey on at practice Friday. According to other media members on hands, Jeff Wilson, Azeez Al-Shaair, George Kittle, Trent Williams, Dee Ford, and Robbie Gould all looked ready to go. Outside of Williams, the 49ers have missed each player in recent weeks.

Kyle Shanahan said Wilson “has kind of taken off” in his rehab in recent weeks. With Mitchell nursing a rib injury, Wilson’s status could be determined by whether Wilson plays or not.

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel was running on the side. So long as Samuel is active and moving around, that’s a good sign for his status Sunday against the Cardinals. Here’s a look at the injury report:

Mo Hurst – OUT

Jimmie Ward – OUT

Elijah Mitchell – Questionable

Deebo Samuel – Questionable

Dee Ford – Questionable

Shanahan said Ford’s back issue “never fully gone away… we think it came up with his concussion.”

He added that Samuel’s calf is in worse condition this week than it was last week. Shanahan, on Odell Beckham Jr.: “Everyone’s a big fan. I don’t know anyone who’s not.” The 49ers head coach was careful as he didn’t want to break any tampering rules.

Arizona’s Kyler Murray, A.J. Green, and DeAndre Hopkins all missed practice. Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury reiterated Friday that Murray could still play even though he hasn’t practiced all week.

Kingsbury said, “he’s progressing. We’ll see how he feels Sunday, and go from there. I know he wants to play. He understands how important a division game is, and is playing at a really high level. We’re not going to put him out there unless he can function. He wants to play. We’ll see.”

That doesn’t sound like a player that’s playing. Kingsbury said Hopkins, like Murray, is a game-day decision. Arizona’s All-Pro center Rodney Hudson is “trending the right way” and could be removed from the injured reserved list. Here’s the Cardinals injury report:
