The Arizona Cardinals added four players to their practice squad on Wednesday and on Thursday they made an additional move in bringing in offensive lineman Zack Johnson.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed offensive lineman Zack Johnson to the practice squad.

Johnson (6-6, 301) spent his entire rookie season on Green Bay’s practice squad last year after originally joining the Packers as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2020 from North Dakota State. The 24-year old Johnson was with the Packers during training camp this year prior to getting released. While at North Dakota State, Johnson played in 54 games and made 46 career starts at both guard and tackle.

The team did not announce how they opened up a practice squad spot, but eagle-eyed Jess Root of Cardswire saw on the NFL transaction wire that they have placed wide receiver Josh Doctson on the practice squad Covid list.

Welcome to the desert, Zack and a speedy recovery to Josh.
