Bengals to meet with free agent DT Teair Tart

The Cincinnati Bengals are meeting with free-agent defensive tackle Teair Tart today, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

If the Bengals aren’t able to re-sign DJ Reader, it would make sense that they would go after Tart in this free-agency class.

Last season with the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans, he played 11 games total and finished with 21 tackles, four quarterback hits, one sack and eight tackles for a loss.

The Bengals tried to claim Tart when the Titans waived him last season and Reader was injured, but the Texans had the top priority in the waiver order so the claim for the Bengals didn’t come to fruition. But they have obviously been interested in having Tart on the roster since then.

Adding Tart would be a solid addition to the interior of the Bengals’ defensive line.
