A big win for Cincinnati’s defensive line.

The Cincinnati Bengals today have cleared defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi to practice after a passed physical.

Before training camp began, Ogunjobi was placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list with a hamstring injury. Head coach Zac Taylor described his injury as day-to-day during a media session on July 28th.

Ogunjobi, a fifth-year player out of Charlotte, signed a one-year deal with the Bengals back in March. Formerly of the Cleveland Browns, he is slated to start at defensive tackle this season for Cincinnati.

The timing here is interesting, as the Bengals are preparing for their first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday night. Ogunjobi should be back out on the practice field this week, but it’s unclear if he’ll actually suit up and play so soon after his return to action. If he does step onto the field, his snaps will most likely be limited.

With Ogunjobi cleared, rookie punter Drue Chrisman remains as the lone Bengal left on the Active/PUP list. Offensive tackle Hakeem Adeniji and rookie defensive end Wyatt Hubert are listed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list and are expected to start the season on Injured Reserve.
