Denver Broncos cornerback Damarri Mathis suffered a back issue that put him in as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Houston Texans.

The Denver Broncos will nearly have all hands on deck on Sunday against the Houston Texans, with the exception of cornerback Damarri Mathis who is questionable heading into this weekend with a back injury. Denver also got wide receiver Brandon Johnson back from injured reserve, but Head Coach Sean Payton was coy with whether or not he’ll be active.

“I’m all for having our five receivers, but I’m not announcing who is playing on Sunday,” Payton said of Johnson. “In other words, Jerry [Jeudy] has a good practice today. We’ll see where we’re at.”

Over the past five season, the Broncos have been just a decimated roster by December with few guys coming back. This year, Denver has guys coming back and they are healthier than most teams. That is a recipe for a late season run if there ever was one.
