Canadian Bills fans rejoice as U.S. will lift COVID travel ban in early November

Canadian Buffalo Bills fans make up a large percentage of season ticket holders, as estimates put the group at 10% to 20% of total season tickets sold each year. But for this season, Canadians on non-essential travel were barred from entering the country. Like to attend a Bills game.

Beginning in early November, restrictions will be lifted on fully vaccinated Canadians who can now attend Bills games in Orchard Park. That means only one more missed game on October 31st before the Bills host the Indianapolis Colts on November 21st.

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, members of our shared cross-border community have felt the pain and economic hardship of the land border closures. That pain is about to end,” Senate Democratic leader and New Yorker Chuck Schumer said in a statement.

As people have been referencing the resale market for the cost of secondary market tickets, many have failed to calibrate it for the large number of Canadian fans who were unable to cross the border. With the team’s play at a fever pitch and the return of the neighbors from the north, tickets for the final five games could become increasingly harder or more expensive to come by.

Like the Canadians coming across the border, fans at Highmark Stadium will still need to provide proof of vaccination for the foreseeable future.
