The Chargers face the Bengals in Week 13 after suffering a loss to the Broncos.

Now 6-5 and in the thick of the playoff race, Los Angeles has a few question marks surrounding them.

With that being said, here are three reasons why the Bolts should be concerned about their matchup against Cincinnati.

– After showing improvement, the Chargers took a tumble against the run last weekend against the Broncos. Now, the team faces Bengals running back Joe Mixon, who poses a threat. The fifth-year back combined for 58 carries for 288 yards and four touchdowns in his previous two performances. Los Angeles has given up 140 or more rushing yards in seven games this season. If Mixon can’t be contained, it will be a long day for the Bolts.

– The Chargers’ offense lacks consistent efficiency, and they’re running into a Bengals defense that is finding its footing. Cincinnati is sixth in the league in points allowed (20.5), rushing yards allowed per game (93.7), and 11th in total yards allowed per game (348.2).

– The Chargers’ passing defense has been a real issue as of late, and one of the primary factors is due to Asante Samuel Jr.’s absence. Samuel was ruled out again with a concussion, which means that Tevaughn Campbell will get the start in place of him. Campbell has struggled in an expanded role. Los Angeles will draw the duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Chase has 50 receptions for 906 yards and nine touchdowns, while Higgins is coming off his best performance of the season, with six catches for 114 yards and one score.
