Matt Nagy has helped guide the Chicago Bears to two playoff appearances during his three years on the job and a 28-20* regular season record. Among Chicago head coaches that have coached at least three seasons, his .583 winning percentage only trails Mike Ditka’s .631, co-coaches** Hunk Anderson and Luke Johnsos’ .676, George Halas’ .682, and Ralph Jones’ .706.

Nagy’s 28 regular season wins is seventh most in franchise history behind Neill Armstrong’s 30, Dick Jauron’s 35, Dave Wannstedt’s 40, Lovie Smith’s 81, Ditka’s 106, and Halas’ 318.

On paper it really seems like Nagy has been the goods during his time in the Windy City, but consecutive 8-8 seasons, quarterback/offensive issues, and some stubborn play calling at times landed him on the hot seat earlier this year.

But with the Justin Fields buzz driving the excitement of the fans, and with Nagy seemingly playing a part in that by assisting in the scouting and working out of college QBs this offseason, are your expectations of Nagy changing?

We fired up a Ryan Pace approval rating poll here, so make sure you weigh in on that one too.

* Pro Football Reference has an error on their site and I erroneously went with what they had without realizing they already had him down for an 8-8 record in 2021 which messed up their totals on their Bears head coach page. (h/t to Jeff Berckes for the catch!)

** Anderson and Johnsos both served as head coach from 1942 to 1945 so they share the team’s won/loss record, with Halas being a third Bears head coach with them during the 1942 season.
