Since the Carolina Panthers have been giving out all these greenbacks lately, maybe they should save a few for one of their more overlooked contributors.

With the major waves of free agency now gone, Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon recently named each NFL team’s most underpaid players. For the Panthers, he chooses running back Chuba Hubbard—who is coming off another busy campaign.

Gagnon writes:

By no means is the 24-year-old a star, but he has delivered steadily throughout his first three years in Carolina and should be a factor again in 2024. That’s all with a contract that pays him just north of $1 million per year on average.

Hubbard is still on his rookie contract, which will account for a cap hit of approximately $3.2 million 2024. That deal also expires following the upcoming season.

So, could the Panthers open up their wallets for him, too?

2023 marked the second time in three years where Hubbard led the team in rushing. The former fourth-round pick ran for a career-high 902 yards and five touchdowns after taking over the lead role from Miles Sanders.
