CSC Wild Card Saturday preview and props

Two of the six wild card games take place on Saturday as the Cleveland Browns challenge the Houston Texans and the Miami Dolphins travel to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The regular season has wrapped up and now just 14 teams remain to compete for the Super Bowl. Just two teams get a bye week, meaning there are six games in the wild card weekend, broken up over three total days. The AFC is highlighted in the Saturday slate, with one game between two very unexpected teams and another being competed in historic conditions. The weekend will be great to watch, even for those whose team is not in the running. CSC Wild Card Saturday props and best bets

Browns gameline -2(-110)

When the season began, most pundits and oddsmakers did not have a game between the Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans in their playoff slate. The predictors definitely would not have had Joe Flacco under center behind one of the league’s best defenses. On the other sideline, is the young and upstart Houston Texans with the leader for offensive rookie of the year in C.J. Stroud. The game takes place in Houston since the Texans won the AFC South, or this line would likely be higher. The experience and defense of the Browns is likely going to be too much for the Texans. Not only do the Browns win, but they also easily cover the two points.

Devin Singletary over 64.5 rushing yards(-115)

One of the best players on this Texans team has been running back Devin Singletary. Singletary left the Buffalo Bills last season and signed with the Texans in a move that made zero splash. The Texans understood what they had, and Singletary has taken over and played very well as the primary ball carrier for the team. On paper, the matchup is decent for Singletary. He has averaged 4.2 yards per carry this season and the Browns are giving up 4.3 over their last four games. With Singletary rushing the ball over 18 times per game in the last month on average, he should see enough work to hit the 65 yards needed for this prop.

Dolphins gameline +6(-139)

The second Wild Card Saturday game is likely to take place in some of the most frigid conditions to ever occur in an NFL game. The Miami Dolphins must travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium, where temperatures could feel like -30 during the game. This is bad news for the warm-weather Dolphins team; however, no team is ever going to be conditioned to these kinds of temperatures. The game will see one the league’s best offense of the Dolphins face the former offensive champions in the Chiefs. With the Dolphins incredibly banged up, they limp into this game against a Chiefs team that has hardly looked like their previous juggernaut selves. The weather, health, and overall mediocre play from both teams recently should keep the game close throughout. In that case, take the points, especially when it is nearly a touchdown difference.

Isiah Pacheco anytime TD scorer(-130)

There might be no player who will punish the opposing team in this bad-weathered game like Isiah Pacheco. Pacheco and his brutal running style is going to be hard to tackle in the game, especially with the cold weather making everything difficult. This is why he has the shortest odds of scoring a touchdown than any player in this game. Expect the Chiefs to lean on Pacheco and the running game, even against a Dolphins team that allows the lowest rushing yards per attempt in the NFL the last month. Yards could be tough to come by, but Pacheco will find a way to get into the end zone in what is likely a very low scoring game.

Dalton Schultz anytime TD scorer(+195)

As good as the Browns defense has been, they do allow high production to opposing tight ends. In the last month of regular season football, the Browns allowed the most receptions to tight ends in the entire NFL. This leads to allowing bottom-10 in yards and touchdowns allowed as well. This should allow Dalton Schultz to have a very productive game for the Texans against a very good Browns defense. Schultz’s receiving yards total is also worth a look, but this double-up longshot is worth a wager as well.
