Michael Jacquet. The 6-foot-1-inch cornerback was a surprise addition to the roster last season. Used as an outside corner when Avonte Maddox missed time to an injury, Jacquet saw a lot of time late in the season. Jacquet played poorly in the Dec. 27 game against the Dallas Cowboys, allowing seven catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. His size could be an asset against some of the bigger receivers in the league, and an additional year of experience could help him bounce back. If the Eagles do not add another veteran cornerback to the roster, Jacquet could contribute once again and play better and continue to improve. [BLG Note: We did see Jacquet lining up as CB2 during OTAs, for what it’s worth.]

Biggest question still to be answered: Is Sirianni ready for prime time? Sirianni, 40, has never been a head coach at any level, and has assembled the youngest staff in the NFL. Now he is in charge of a major-market team coming off a dysfunction-riddled 2020 season. He’ll have to navigate some of the tricky internal dynamics that appeared to burn Pederson out and find a way to get this franchise back on track, all while adjusting to a new role. Other than that, should be a walk in the park.

30. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles. Despite winning just one of the four games he started, Jalen Hurts did show some promise at the end of last season. Hurts had a monster game in Week 15 against Arizona in which he threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 106 yards. As the man from day one this year, Hurts will have a chance to prove himself in 2021.

For the first time in his life, Chris Scott Jr. took part in Philadelphia’s Pride festivities in 2016. As a gay Black man, it was a milestone moment for Scott, as he had yet to find a place for himself in Philadelphia’s LGBTQ+ community. In the midst of the celebration, Scott made his way to Penn’s Landing and stumbled upon an information table for the Greater Philadelphia Flag Football League (GPFFL), a 7-on-7 adult recreational league in South Philadelphia. Despite growing up in Philadelphia, Scott had never heard of the league, but it instantly piqued his interest. The league welcomed everyone – regardless of ethnicity, gender identity, or sexual orientation. For Scott, it represented the best of both worlds: an outlet for him to play football, which he loved to do, and an environment where he can be himself.

2020 was a fascinating season for New York Giants tight end Evan Engram. The tight end caught 63 passes for 654 yards, his highest numbers since his rookie season back in 2017. He was named to his first Pro Bowl, which might also speak to the depth — or lack thereof — at the position in today’s NFC. But Engram also caught a single touchdown pass, the lowest output of his four-year career, and his 10.4 yards per reception was also the lowest mark since entering the league. So how can Jason Garrett and the Giants get more out of their tight end?
