The Eagles have a new offensive lineman!

With the 172nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select … Trevor Keegan, offensive guard, Michigan!

The Eagles were originally set to make back-to-back picks at No. 171 and No. 172. But they traded down while on the clock at No. 171 to acquire No. 185 and No. 190 from the New York Jets.

Getting back to Keegan, he’s on the older side for a prospect since he turns 24 in August. The Eagles haven’t shied away from age as much for offensive line prospects, though.

Keegan played left guard in college and started 37 games at that position. The Eagles were in need of some more offensive line depth after losing top backups Sua Opeta and Jack Driscoll in free agency.

Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:

Three-year starting guard with good size, great makeup and robust experience in big games. Keegan is part of a Michigan brotherhood up front that won back-to-back Joe Moore Awards (best college football offensive line unit) and made it to the College Football Playoff in three straight seasons. He plays with average hand placement but above-average strain and is extremely consistent in the duo blocking scheme Michigan features so frequently. He’s always hunting extra work and is made for the physicality of the league but could struggle against the length and athleticism he will see in front of him on passing downs. Keegan has Day 3 draft value but might be able to rise from backup status to eventual starter for a run-heavy team.
