It’s do or die time for New Orleans.

Today, the New Orleans Saints will take on the Detroit Lions in a must win game for the Saints. After dropping a crucial game to the Atlanta Falcons last week, the Saints have found themselves in a hole that they must quickly dig themselves out of. Although the Detroit Lions will be no easy task, the Saints must find a way or else they will find themselves at risk of losing the NFC South and missing the playoffs entirely.

If the Saints win

As hard of a task that this may be, winning here is not impossible. If the Saints wish to leave the home crowd happy with a win, the defense must continue to make a trend for the Jared Goff turnover ratio that has grown over the last few weeks.

A win here would rise the Saints back to .500 with a 6-6 record. Assuming that the Falcons come out on top against the Jets, the Saints would leave this weekend still in a tight race with Atlanta for the division crown.

If the Saints lose

A loss here would put the Saints in a larger hole, larger than the one they are already in. Dropping to 5-7 is not what anyone in this ball club needs at this moment. Dropping to 5-7 would boost the Atlanta Falcons chances of winning the division given that both the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fallen behind and most likely will not be catching up to the Saints/Falcons.

A loss here would also continue the trend that Dennis Allen comes up short against teams with a winning record and also push the agenda that most Saints fans have been voicing: the Saints need changes at the coaching position.
