The offseason officially began for the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round on Saturday night.
In three months, Jacksonville’s attention will be back on Kansas City where the 2023 NFL Draft will be hosted. After their Saturday night loss, the Jaguars are now set to pick 24th overall.
The four teams eliminated in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs typically own the 25th through 28th selections. However, the Miami Dolphins forfeited their first-round pick (which was due to be No. 21 overall) for tampering with Tom Brady and Sean Payton.
As the team with the worst record among the final eight teams of the playoffs, the Jaguars slide into the top of that range.
Barring a massive trade up the draft order, it’ll be only the second time in 16 years that the Jaguars don’t make a pick in the top 10.
Among the top draft needs for Jacksonville are cornerback, pass rusher, wide receiver, tight end, and additional help on both the offensive and defensive lines.
