Jets announce re-signing of guard Jake Hanson

The Jets announced Thursday they have re-signed offensive guard Jake Hanson. Hanson was a restricted free agent, meaning he could have signed an offer sheet with another team and then the Jets would have had the chance to match that offer sheet. The Jets just went ahead and kept Hanson, who started four games at right guard for the team in 2023.

Hanson joined the Jets on November 6 when he signed with the practice squad. He was elevated from the practice squad twice (Weeks 11 and 13) before being signed to the active roster on December 9.

Hanson will return as a serviceable depth piece behind, presumably, Alijah Vera-Tucker and new addition John Simpson.
