Jets place George Fant on injured reserve

The Jets have placed offensive tackle George Fant on injured reserve, per Field Yates of ESPN.

Fant becomes the third offensive tackle placed on IR by the Jets this season, following Mekhi Becton and Duane Brown. Brown was placed on IR before Week 1, so he is eligible to return in Week 5 against the Dolphins and can practice next week. Fant will be eligible to return in Week 8 against the Patriots.

The Jets added offensive tackle Mike Remmers to the practice squad Monday and signed Cedric Ogbuehi to the active roster Tuesday, plucking him from the practice squad of the Texans.

As of now, the three offensive tackle on the active roster are Ogbuehi, Max Mitchell and Conor McDermott.

The Jets have now placed OT George Fant on injured reserve.
