According to Johnson County Kansas District Court Public Records, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross was with two misdemeanors: one count of domestic battery with no priors and one count of criminal damage to property totaling less than $1,000.

Ross was arrested Monday afternoon in Shawnee, Kansas, and booked later that day, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office’s Booking and Release Report.

The Kansas City Star provided more information in its report on the incident:

On radio traffic captured on Broadcastify.com, a police dispatcher stated that the alleged victim told police that Ross was “dragging her through the house and has torn up the house.” The alleged victim suffered minor injuries, according to a Shawnee Police Department offense report. No specific injuries were included. The property damage is to a laptop, iPhone, computer monitor, gold bracelet and car key, the offense report stated. No weapons were involved in the incident, per the offense report.

Ross appeared in court via Zoom on Tuesday afternoon, pleading not guilty, according to KSHB41.

During his court appearance, a judge set a $2,500 personal recognizance bond for Ross. Ross later bonded out of the Johnson County Adult Detention Center after his appearance. The judge also granted Ross’ ex-girlfriend’s request to have no contact with Ross and gave her two hours after the hearing to gather her things from his home.

Ross is due back in court on December 4.

Ross, 23, is in his second year with the Chiefs after signing with the club as an undrafted wide receiver out of Clemson following the 2022 NFL Draft. Ross spent the 2022 season on the club’s injured reserve list before making the team at the 2023 53-man roster deadline.

In seven 2023 appearances, he has three catches for 34 yards. The Chiefs have not released a statement on the matter.
