It’s a hot one in the desert

Everyone hold up four fingers, because we are heading to the final fifteen minutes of play at State Farm Stadium with the Minnesota Vikings trailing the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 31-30.

The Cardinals got the football first, but it was the Vikings that scored the first points of the quarter thanks to a defensive touchdown! Nick Vigil intercepted a pass from Kyler Murray and sprinted back 38 yards to the end zone for the Vikings’ first pick-six in quite some time. Greg Joseph hit the extra point, and just a minute into the second have the Vikings were back on top at 30-24.

But the Cardinals answered after a couple of big plays got them deep into Minnesota territory, and they got into the end zone on a 9-yard pass from Murray to A.J. Green. The extra point split the uprights, and the Cardinals were once again in the lead by a score of 31-30 with nine minutes remaining in the third quarter.

The Vikings were forced to punt on their next possession, but Jordan Berry did a nice job of flipping the field a bit, at least. The Cardinals started to drive again, but it was thwarted by the Vikings’ second interception of the day, this one by Xavier Woods, who got his first pick in purple to end the drive.

Unfortunately, the offense was unable to do anything with the possession, going three-and-out when Kirk Cousins was hit on his third down pass attempt. The Vikings punted it away. . .and the Cardinals were called for roughing Jordan Berry on the attempt to move the chains for the Vikings!

As we move to the fourth quarter, the Vikings are looking at a third-and-5 from the Arizona 33-yard line.

We’ve had a good one in Arizona today, folks, and the Vikings trail the Cardinals by a score of 31-30. Come on in and join us for the final quarter of play, and remember that we’ve got our live post-game shows coming up when this one is over!
