POD staff picks for the “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

The NFL opened Week 12 with a battle between NFC North rivals Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers, and they close out the week with a “Monday Night Football” matchup between the other two NFC North teams: the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears and Vikings have met 125 times in their franchises’ histories, with Minnesota holding a 66-56-2 regular season edge, including winning their past five battles. The one time these two teams met in the playoffs, back in 1995, it was Chicago that came out on top.

The Bears and Vikings are coming off a loss, where they controlled the action up until the final five minutes, eventually losing to the Lions and Broncos, respectively. Both teams’ successes have come on the arms and legs of their starting quarterbacks, as Justin Fields just returned to the Chicago lineup last week, and Josh Dobbs was acquired by Minnesota via trade just three games ago. How each of these teams do in this matchup will likely largely depend on how Fields and Dobbs perform.

The good folks over at DraftKings Sportsbook list the Vikings as slightly better than field goal favorites in this game and while the majority of the Pride of Detroit staff are picking Minnesota on the moneyline, things are split when it comes to the spread.
