After months of speculating who the Chargers will select, we will finally find out who that will be as the 2024 NFL draft is just a couple of days away.

Currently, Los Angeles is slated to select No. 5 overall and oddsmakers have three players who they confidently believe could have their name called when that pick is up.

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is the frontrunner at +240 (bet $100 to win $240), followed by LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers (+245) and Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (+250), per DraftKings Sportsbook.

This prop is not who the Chargers will select but who will be the fifth pick. With McCarthy leading the pack, they get the sense that a team will trade with the Bolts to pick him.

Los Angeles has been commonly paired with the Vikings as a trade target throughout the pre-draft process. Minnesota currently possesses No. 11 and 23 overall.

It’s worth noting that Harrison Jr. is the heavy favorite to be the No. 4 pick, likely indicating that the Cardinals will stick and pick him. Arizona is another team that could trade out.

Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt is another possibility for the Chargers and he has the fourth-best odds at +450.
