Our Miami Dolphins enter the 2024 NFL draft with a total of 6 picks—unfortunately, four of those come in the later rounds. Miami’s first-round pick is in the second half of the round at number 21. Likewise, their second is a later pick in the round at 23rd (55th overall). Their third-rounder is the pick that was forfeited as punishment for the team’s owner, Stephen Ross’ tampering. The team’s fourth-rounder belongs to the Denver Broncos as part of the Bradley Chubb trade. Their late-round picks include the 23rd pick in the 5th (158th overall), the 8th pick in the 6th (184th overall), the 22nd pick in the 6th (198th overall), and the 21st pick in the 7th round (241st overall).

Given that the team enters this year’s draft with some obvious holes in the roster, fans and the media have suggested that the team trade down in the first round in hopes of adding additional picks. There is an argument for holding that pick, but only if a guy they covet or had a much higher draft grade falls to 21. Dolphins GM Chris Grier has already stated that they do not have 21 players with first-round grades. The idea of trading down is popular, with some hoping to see the team recoup some of the draft capital that was either stolen by the league or traded away two seasons ago.

So tonight’s question of the day is, would you prefer to see the team trade down and add as many picks as possible, or would you prefer to see them stay at 21 and take the best player available or the player that best fills a need? As a third choice, would you instead like to see the team trade up in the first in an attempt to add one of the top players in this year’s draft?
