NFL Mock Draft 2022: Three top 10 picks for the Eagles

Hope for the future.

Six weeks in to the season and the Eagles have only won two games. The team is young (coaching staff included), with a lot of growth needed before they can be competitive, but this is where many expected them to be after last year. Luckily, Philadelphia is on track to have three high first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. If the draft happened tomorrow, here is how Dayy 1 could shake out for Philly.

Current Draft Order from Tankathon

1. Detroit Lions- Malik Willis, Quarterback, Liberty: This quarterback class doesn’t have the sure thing that a lot of the previous classes have had, but Malik Willis is as talented as they come and Detroit is a great situation for him to come into and grow into a franchise quarterback.
2. Jacksonville Jaguars- Evan Neal, Tackle, Alabama: Jacksonville desperately needs to build around Trevor Lawrence, and strengthening the offensive line is the first thing to be done.
3. Philadelphia Eagles (From Miami)- Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, Oregon: The Eagles have needs at every level of their team, but taking a blue chip defensive talent is a great way to build for the future. The Eagles defensive line is a strength, but continuing to add young talent will keep it strong for the long run.
4. Houston Texans- Derek Stingley Junior, Cornerback, LSU: The Texans can go in a lot of directions, but taking the top cornerback in the draft guarantees a key defensive building block.
5. New York Giants- Nicholas Petit-Frere, Offensive Lineman, Ohio State: The Giants keep strengthening their offensive line with Nicholas Petit-Frere, who can step in at tackle or guard.
6. New York Jets- Aidan Hutchinson, Edge, Michigan: The Jets could go offense, but upgrading their defensive line is crucial for Robert Saleh’s defense. Aidan Hutchinson would be dangerous next to Quinnen Williams and across from Carl Lawson.
7. New England Patriots- Treylon Burks, Wide Receiver, Arkansas: The Patriots are in full rebuilding mode, and they desperately need some weapons for their young quarterback. Treylon Burks gives Mac Jones a target with size and playmaking ability.
8. Philadelphia Eagles- Kyle Hamilton, Safety, Notre Dame: Is this too high for a safety? Not a safety like Kyle Hamilton. The Notre Dame defender can play all over the field and give the Eagles a physical presence in their secondary that they have desperately missed since Malcolm Jenkins left.
9. Philadelphia Eagles (From Indianapolis)- Tyler Linderbaum, Center, Iowa: The Eagles need to keep getting younger on their offensive line. Even with Landon Dickerson drafted as a potential Kelce replacement, Linderbaum is too good a center prospect to pass up here. With Linderbaum at center, Dickerson could stay at left guard and the Eagles have a great outlook for their offensive line.
10. New York Jets (From Seattle)- Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, Ohio State: Chris Olave would give the Jets a much needed field stretcher to help Zach Wilson.
11. Washington Football- Matt Corral, Quarterback, Ole Miss: Washington swinging for the fences makes a lot of sense here. Corral is talented and would be surrounded by playmakers in that offense.
12. Atlanta Falcons- Ahmad Gardner, Cornerback, Cincinnati: Atlanta is in a weird place right now, but adding a top cornerback talent to their defense could help them find their identity on that side of the ball.
13. Miami (From San Francisco)- Jordan Davis, Defensive Tackle, Georgia: It would be surprising if Davis fell this far, but Miami should sprint to the podium if he does.
14. Denver Broncos- Darrian Kinnard, Offensive Tackle, Kentucky: The Broncos could go quarterback here, but they might be smart to keep bolstering the offensive line and go for another season with Teddy Bridgewater back there.
15. Carolina Panthers- DeMarvin Leal, Defensive Tackle, Texas A&M: The Panthers have been at their best this season while their defense was at full strength. DeMarvin Leal lining up next to Derrick Brown and Brian Burns sounds scary.
16. New York Giants (From Chicago)- George Karlaftis, Edge, Purdue: The Giants add serious juice to their defense here with George Karlaftis, who can wreak havoc as a pass rusher and run defender.
17. Cleveland Browns- Garrett Wilson, Wide Receiver, Ohio State: The Browns have needed a consistent big play threat in their passing game for a while. With Odell Beckham Junior not able to stay healthy in Cleveland, Wilson makes sense here.
18. Kansas City Chiefs- Devin Lloyd, Linebacker, Utah: The Chiefs linebackers stink. No way around it. Devin Lloyd is an athletic, physical player who could really turn that unit around.
19. Minnesota Vikings- Andrew Booth, Cornerback, Clemson: The Vikings defense has been up and down this season, so adding a young playmaker in the secondary would make a big difference heading into next season.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Sam Howell, Quarterback, UNC: The Steelers need to move on from Big Ben. While Sam Howell’s hype has certainly faded, the UNC passer could still thrive in the NFL in the right circumstance.
21. Tennessee Titans- Myjai Sanders, Edge, Cincinnati: Even with all the recent defensive draft picks, the Titans still need more from that side of the ball. Sanders is an instant impact pass rusher.
22. New Orleans Saints- Drake London, Wide Receiver, USC: The Saints are a hard team to nail down right now, but they could certainly benefit from adding a big bodied, above the rim type of receiver like Drake London.]
23. Las Vegas Raiders- Ikem Ekwonu, Offensive Lineman, NC State: The Raiders have thrived in recent years with a big, physical offensive line. Adding Ikem Ekwonu to the mix at guard would keep the unit extremely hard to defend against.
24. Dallas Cowboys- Drake Jackson, Edge, USC: The Cowboys have had a great start to the season and one of their few weaknesses is defensive line depth. Drake Jackson is a twitchy defender who would add more speed to a mightily improved Cowboys defense.
25. Las Angeles Chargers- Zion Nelson, Offensive Lineman, Miami: The Chargers made a brilliant decision when they drafted Rashawn Slater last year and they can keep making good decisions by drafting Zion Nelson to give the Chargers great bookends of their offensive line.
26. Cincinnati Bengals- Charles Cross, Offensive Lineman, Mississippi State: The Bengals look really solid with Joe Burrow healthy, but they need to keep him healthy with improving their offensive line. Charles Cross would step in as an immediate upgrade at tackle or guard.
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Trent McDuffie, Cornerback, Washington: The Bucs go back to the Huskies for another defender this year, this time getting younger at cornerback.
28. Detroit (From Los Angeles Rams)- Adam Anderson, Edge, Georgia: The Lions need to add talent everywhere on their team. Adam Anderson is a high upside pass rusher that Dan Campbell will love.
29. Buffalo Bills- Kaiir Elam, Cornerback, Florida: The Bills are having another great season on both sides of the ball and can keep that trend going by adding yet another playmaker to their secondary.
30. Green Bay Packers- Kenyon Green, Offensive Lineman, Texas A&M: The Packers might be transitioning from the Aaron Rodgers era after this season and will need to surround Jordan Love with a young, talented offensive line.
31. Baltimore Ravens- Josh Jobe, Cornerback, Alabama: The Ravens are somehow still one of the best teams in the league despite being hit hard with injuries early in the season. Nevertheless, getting another physical, athletic cornerback in their secondary would bode well for them next year.
32. Arizona Cardinals- Jalen Wydermyer, Tight End, Texas A&M: The Cardinals are rolling right now behind an outstanding offense. Imagine if they added another weapon for Kyler Murray to play with?
