Former Tennessee Titans and New York Jets wide receiver Corey Davis is reportedly coming out of retirement.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Davis, who retired last August for an unexplained reason, has applied for reinstatement to the league and is expected to be released by the Jets from the reserve/retired list.
Yates adds that a return to New York is possible.
A former first-round pick of the Titans in 2017, Davis spent four years with Tennessee before moving on in free agency to play for the Jets, where he appeared in 22 games over two seasons.
At 29 years old, Davis should still have something left in the tank and figures to have suitors in free agency upon his reinstatement.

Despite adding Calvin Ridley recently, the Titans could use another receiver and the Western Michigan product would likely come cheap, but it remains to be seen if Tennessee or Davis will have any interest in a reunion.
I wouldn’t bet on it.
