Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt has been the consensus pick in mock drafts for the Tennessee Titans since the season’s conclusion.

The Titans have a gaping hole at left tackle and Alt is the top blindside protector in the class, so the marriage makes plenty of sense. Tennessee has expressed interest, as well, hosting Alt for a top-30 visit in Nashville.

Another connection has given Alt to the Titans even more legs. Alt’s position coach, Joe Rudolph, got his first coaching gig under new Titans OL coach Bill Callahan in Wisconsin, per Yahoo Sports’ Nate Tice.

Not only did the pair coach together, but Rudolph also played under Callahan at Wisconsin for four years. The two undoubtedly have a connection, and it’s easy to assume that Rudolph has provided the Titans with a great deal of insight in regards to Alt.

Alt may not be the only Notre Dame lineman catching the eyes of the Titans, though. The Fighting Irish’s right tackle, Blake Fisher, has also declared for the draft and figures to be a top-100 selection. There has been no reported interest between the two parties, but nothing can be ruled out at this time.

Overall, there is no shortage of speculation for Alt going to the Titans. The 6-foot-8 behemoth is the heavy betting favorite to be Tennessee’s first-round selection and, as stated before, he’s been the top choice for the Titans in mocks.
