With the Cleveland Browns set to release Odell Beckham Jr. the focus quickly shift to his future: Where will the Pro Bowl wide receiver end up? Given that Beckham Jr. will have to pass through the waiver wire before making it to the open market, the teams with the highest priority — led by the 0-8 Detroit Lions — should be seen as the favorites.

However, according to the oddsmakers another team is actually favored to end up with the 29-year-old: the New Orleans Saints, who currently only have the 23rd waiver claim priority but are still listed at +300, via MaximBet.

Before Beckham Jr. can even fall that far, however, he would have to make it past another team listed among the current top-5: the New England Patriots.

The Patriots are listed with +500 odds, tied with the Buffalo Bills for fourth. New England has the advantage over both New Orleans and Buffalo that it ranks 15th in the waiver priority. While lacking salary cap space, the Browns restructuring Beckham Jr’s contract should help the Patriots get him aboard as a waiver claim if they so choose (and no team with a better priority goes after him).

New England is therefore among the favorites to sign Beckham Jr, either via waivers or on the free agency market:

  • New Orleans Saints: +300
  • Baltimore Ravens: +350
  • Las Vegas Raiders: +400
  • Buffalo Bills: +500
  • New England Patriots: +500
  • Indianapolis Colts: +800
  • Tennessee Titans: +800
  • Los Angeles Rams: +1000

Beckham Jr. will be awarded off waivers on Monday by 4:00 p.m. ET and depending on the contract restructure could cost his new team as little as $537,500 for the remainder of the season.
